Meet Larry Harris – General Manager

Larry Harris isn’t just the general manager at Upright Construction—he’s been part of Stoney’s life since the very beginning. The two grew up together, sharing a bond built on loyalty, hustle, and years of friendship. When Stoney set out to grow Upright into something bigger, Larry was the natural choice to help lead the charge.

A graduate of Harrison High School, Larry brings a steady, dependable presence to the team. With a calm demeanor and strong communication skills, he’s become the go-to guy for coordinating projects, managing crews, and ensuring jobs run smoothly from start to finish.

Outside of work, Larry is a proud family man. He and his wife, Angela, have been married since 2008 and live in Wadesville with their two dogs, Huck and Sparky. Angela has worked at Shoe Carnival since 2020 and is known for her strong work ethic and warm personality.

Their daughter, Savannah, is a 15-year-old sophomore at Mater Dei High School. She’s involved in volleyball and plays basketball, showing the same competitive spirit her dad has always admired. Their son, Preston, is in 7th grade at St. Philip and is a true athlete—juggling football, basketball, and baseball with ease. Whether he’s on the field or the court, Preston’s got the heart of a competitor and a love for sports that runs deep.

At Upright, Larry leads with the same values that define his family life: loyalty, humility, and dedication. His role in the company’s success can’t be overstated—he’s the guy who always shows up, puts in the work, and makes sure everyone else is taken care of too.

Meet Stoney Hayhurst – Founder & CEO

Stoney built Upright Construction from the ground up—literally. With a background that includes everything from concrete work to full-scale residential remodels, his journey is rooted in grit, integrity, and a passion for helping others. What started as small repair jobs for realtors has grown into a multi-division company known for roofing, remodeling, and custom home builds across Indiana.

Stoney is a proud husband, father, and now a grandfather. He and his wife, Amy, share a beautifully blended family of seven children. Amy is a licensed speech-language pathologist at Warrick County Schools, a devoted mother, and now proudly known as “Gigi”—a role she absolutely loves with their first grandbaby.

Their oldest son, Kegan, has started a family of his own—he and his fiancée Tai recently welcomed their daughter, Willow, making Stoney and Amy first-time grandparents. Ashton, a driven and hardworking young man, is wrestling at the collegiate level after placing third in the state of Indiana during high school. Stoney and Ashton spent years traveling the country together for wrestling tournaments.

Kendall, who Stoney says takes after him most, is currently transferring from Indiana State to USI to continue her college education closer to home. She’s always had a strong work ethic and has held a job consistently since she was old enough to work. Whether in school or on the clock, Kendall is dependable, focused, and never afraid to put in the effort.

Hayley, the youngest of his biological children, is entering her freshman year at Castle High School and recently made the school cheer team, while also competing nationally in competitive cheer.

From their blended family, Malory is a senior at Western Kentucky University and is following in Amy’s footsteps as a future speech-language pathologist. Caroline, also at WKU, is studying nursing and is in the same sorority as her older sister. Charley, the youngest of the crew, is an energetic and talented cheerleader preparing for a big year of competitive cheer on two teams.

Stoney’s leadership at Upright is deeply shaped by his values—faith, family, and hard work. Whether he’s mentoring his crew, planning a new build, or filming content for the Upright YouTube channel, those priorities always guide his work.

His favorite saying?
