Mold remediation crews serving the Evansville, Newburgh, Henderson, Bloomington, and surrounding areas.

Remediation is best left to certified professionals, as most approaches make the problem worse.

Mold spores are ubiquitous / virtually everywhere and tend to germinate in high moisture environments. Specific events, such as water leaking, flooding, or sustained high levels of humidity may provide ideal conditions for mold growth and promulgation.

Simply spraying bleach on mold is not a recommended remediation technique. When mold is treated with a chemical application or biocide, the spore will rupture or decay. During that process, the spore may release toxic sub-micron particles. When those particles are inhaled, they might exasperate and/or inflame allergies and/or health conditions.

A spray and wipe technique may be sufficient for tiny spot treatments upon smooth surfaces, such as a window sill. However, the same approach / treatment may make the problem worse when mold is widespread or embedded within porous surfaces. Spraying then wiping the mold may temporarily appear to work, but will likely aid the spread/ transmission of mold by effectively stirring the ruptured spores across wider surface areas while enabling spore to become airborne. Once airborne, the spores can be inhaled and attach to new surfaces where they may continue to spread.

Certified For Proper Mold Removal

Upright Construction is certified to properly remove widespread mold spores from structures. This remediation process typically involves setting up a containment area, with negative pressure, then utilizing advanced air filtration with air scrubbers, as the remediation work is being done by a certified technician, properly outfitted with protective gear. Areas affected by mold growth need to be HEPA vacuumed, then may require hand sanding, dry ice blasting, chemical scrubbing, or combination of these treatments. The negative pressure environment and advanced air filtration allow for the collection of the ruptured airborne spores.

Upon completion of the remediation project, widespread mold spores should be removed from the structure and effectively filtered from the air, within the containment zone. Following the remediation, steps should be taken to prevent the water intrusion or minimize moisture, to avoid a reoccurrence. Typically, a professional third party will inspect our mold remediation work to verify it’s proper completion.

Additionally, we pride ourselves in being good stewards of the environment and conscious of the public’s health and safety. We properly dispose of the materials used during our cleaning processes in the most responsible manner available to us.
